Kanchanaburi province is home to some of the most stunning waterfalls in all of Thailand. The national parks here, such as Erawan and Sai Yok, are not to be missed. 

For history buffs, Kanchanaburi is also home to the cinema-famous Bridge on the River Kwai. Built during the Japanese occupation of Thailand in WW2, the bridge still stands today, unlike its cinematic cousin that was destroyed in the climax of the film that made it famous. 

After Kanchanaburi, you can spend a few days relaxing in Bangkok before continuing the journey south. 

Bangkok to Krabi
